1. Acceptance of Terms

Finance Quest is operated by Elizabeth Stein, an individual doing business as Finance Quest (“we”, “us”), of 124 Panorama Drive, Washington, PA 15301, United States.

By accessing and using Finance Quest, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.

2. Description of Service

Finance Quest is a financial literacy education platform that provides:

• Interactive lessons on personal finance topics
• Financial calculators and tools
• AI-powered coaching and Q&A
• Progress tracking and gamification features

3. Educational Purpose Disclaimer

Important: Finance Quest is designed for educational purposes only. The content, calculators, and AI coaching provided on this platform:

• Do NOT constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice
• Should NOT be used as the sole basis for any financial decisions
• Are NOT a substitute for consultation with qualified financial professionals
• May not reflect current market conditions or regulations

Always consult with qualified financial advisors, tax professionals, or legal experts before making significant financial decisions.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of Finance Quest, you agree to:

• Use the platform for lawful educational purposes only
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the platform
• Not use the AI features to generate harmful or inappropriate content
• Verify any financial calculations independently before making decisions

5. Accounts and age

You can use the free chapters and labs without an account. To create an account you must be 13 or older. Finance Quest is not built for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has made an account, email hello@financequest.fyi and we will delete it.

6. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

Pro and Family are subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly depending on the plan you chose, and the card on file is charged the price shown at checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe.

You can cancel at any time from Manage billing on the pricing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then chapters 4 to 18 lock again and your plan goes back to the free card. Your progress, quiz scores, certificates and check-ins are kept, and you can export your plan at any time.

We do not refund partial billing periods. If you were charged by mistake or something went wrong with a payment, email hello@financequest.fyi within 30 days and we will look into it.

When a plan offers a free trial, the trial length is shown before checkout and you add a card to start it. We email you three days before the trial ends. When it ends, the card is charged the plan price and the plan renews from then on, unless you cancel from Manage billing before the trial ends. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.

A gift is a one-time payment for one year of Pro. It does not renew and is not charged again.

Lifetime Pro is a one-time payment for Pro with no end date. It does not renew and is not charged again. It stays with the email address it was bought with, so deleting your account and signing up again with the same address, once you confirm it, restores it.

If a gift or Lifetime payment is fully refunded, or the payment is disputed with your bank, the Pro access it bought ends. If we win the dispute, that access is restored. A full refund of a subscription payment ends that subscription.

If we change a subscription price, we will email you before the change applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.

7. Calculator Accuracy

Our financial calculators are designed to provide estimates and educational illustrations. While we strive for accuracy:

• Results are approximations and may not reflect actual outcomes
• Tax calculations may not account for all deductions, credits, or your specific situation
• Investment projections assume consistent returns, which is unrealistic
• We recommend using professional tools for actual financial planning

8. AI Coaching Limitations

Our AI coaching feature is powered by large language models and has limitations:

• AI responses may contain errors or outdated information
• AI cannot access real-time market data or your actual financial accounts
• AI advice is general and not tailored to your specific circumstances
• AI is not a licensed financial advisor

9. Intellectual Property

All content on Finance Quest, including lessons, quizzes, calculators, and design elements, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

What you post is yours. When you post in discussions or submit a member story, you give us permission to store and show it on Finance Quest, and to make the copies needed to run the service. We quote a member story publicly only if you tick the box that allows it and we approve it. Posts must follow the community guidelines. We may hide or remove content that breaks them, and posts that several people report are hidden until we review them. Deleting your account deletes your posts and story. To take down a published story without deleting your account, email hello@financequest.fyi.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Finance Quest and its creators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use the platform
• Any financial decisions made based on content or calculations
• Errors or inaccuracies in educational content
• AI-generated responses or recommendations

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Finance Quest will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Washington County, Pennsylvania, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
